"These CDs have been so important to our families. They consider them as real gifts in their grief journey. They have truly appreciated the gift of a CD rather than a flower that dies soon after they receive it. It is also a more cost effective way for us to remember our residents who die. I always include a personal note with them. We get many positive responses and I am so glad we decided to make this change. We are in our budget process right now and are including the cost of the CDs in my budget. Keep up the good work!" Chaplain Linda Lund, Augustana Health Center
It has been seven years now since we have been using the Memorial Gift CD Program and I continue to be amazed at how much people appreciate receiving a personalized CD in memory of their loved one. We often hear how the music is soothing and relaxing. We had been sending flowers to the funeral service of a client. Though the families appreciated this act of kindness, the flowers only lasted for a few days and were often lost among the many other floral arrangements. However families can appreciate this memorial gift CD much longer plus it’s much more personal! In addition, the cost is no different than the cost of the flowers. I highly recommend this to others who are looking for a unique way of paying respects to former clients. Mark Pederson, Administrator, Guardian Angels Care Center
I have loved Henry Wiens’ music since the first time I heard it several years ago. It has a soothing, comforting quality, and is inspirational and uplifting at the same time. We have been extremely pleased with this program. Upon the death of one of our residents or of someone special to our organization, we select one of Henry’s CDs to be sent to the loved one. The response from those receiving the CD has been unanimous in their gratitude and appreciation. Comments have been: “What a beautiful gift you chose.” “I was deeply touched…” “As I write this I’m alternating between floating and crying.” Everyone has been moved by Henry’s beautiful music. Henry is wonderful to work with. He is very responsive to suggestions I make or requests that I have. The turn-around time between our order and when the CD is sent out is very timely. I highly recommend this program to anyone considering it. Judy Alcott, Director of Development, Episcopal Homes of Minnesota
The death of a resident is a very emotional and sensitive time for staff and families. Our staff always felt good about sending the family flowers and a personal message but the flowers were gone in a few days. In contrast, families love this lasting gift--the music, the personal note, the personalization of the CD jacket and the overall quality. Many comment on the music selections - "That was my mother's favorite song" - "We had that song at Dad's funeral; this CD will be played a lot." This is a more than fitting memorial to the family, and we appreciate having such a high quality gift. Henry makes the order process very simple - email is quick and easy. I would recommend this service to anyone! Dee Chesser, R.N., Residence Director, Emerald Crest
Our facility gives a personalized memorial gift CD from Quiet Heart Music to grieving families who have lost a resident at Lake View. We try to pick a CD that represents what the resident might have liked, such as Quiet Valor for a Veteran, etc. The piano music is beautifully inspirational and soothing. We have found these CDs to be very well received and appreciated by families. They have commented that CDs last longer than flowers and are more personalized to the resident with an inscription on the cover. We will continue to give these CDs and would recommend that others try this service. Mary Hellman, Director S. Srvcs, Lake View Home
